Tv buying guide in 2021
User guides
This post is all about the TV buying guide for 2021. How you can buy a perfect TV that fulfills your requirements, we’ll discuss in this post TVs are something that we don't often change & we keep on using them for 5-10 years. So it's very important to make a perfect decision while you’re purchasing a TV.
Budget
Budget - Generally I don't recommend you to extend your budget when it comes to smartphones as you change your smartphone every 1-2 years. The same doesn’t apply to TV - If you can stretch your budget & then you should try getting a better TV as you’ll be using it for a long time. We spend around 2-5 hours watching TV in a day so it is an important decision. We’d done a TV buying guide in 2018 Don't consider buying a normal TV in 2021 rather get a Smart TV even if you don't use its smart features.
Because after 2-4 years you’ll definitely feel the need for smart TV in the future as you’ll be using the internet by that time. So buy a smart TV in 2021 instead of non-smart TV.
Brand
Brand - Many people want to buy only Samsung & Sony TVs & it's fine. But nowadays we have a lot of TV brands in the market which provide value for money TVs. So don't lean toward any specific brand. Try to look at other options as well. It's important to know the after-sales service of any particular brand & do check if it's present in your city.
As I said you’ll be using it for many years so you might need the service & it should be available in your nearby areas.
Display Size
Display Size - Which TV size should you buy? As it ranges from 24’’ to 85’’ or more. But 99% of people buy between 32’’ - 55’’ which are priced under 50K. People buying 1 lakh Rs TV can probably buy the higher range of TVs as well as their requirements are very different. If your living hall is of medium size & you watch TV from 4-5 ft distance then 32’’ is good enough.
If the distance is more than 5 ft then 40’’- 43’’ should be your option & if the distance is 6-7 ft then you should look at 50’’ - 55’’ TV size. You shouldn't buy a TV that is bigger than your hall size or a small TV that doesn’t match your decor in the larger area. So getting the right size is very important.
Resolution
Resolution - TVs have become a lot cheaper these days as you can get a TV at 10-12K price. But don't buy an HD (720 p) ready TV - Now we have FHD+ (1080p) resolution, 4K & 8K TVs as well.
Don't buy an HD TV in 2021 as after 2 years it’ll be outdated. Only consider HD TV if you’re on a tight budget. But if you can extend your budget then you can look for an FHD TV which is much better. According to the ideal situation today, try getting a 4K TV. If you’re buying a 40’’+ size TV then I’ll suggest you buy a 4K TV. Because when you get a 40’’-50’’ FHD TV the pixel density isn't that much but if you have a bigger TV & if pixels are less, you’ll get a grainy-looking display.
If you’re buying a 32’’ TV then 4K isn't required & FHD is more than sufficient. For 40’’+ size, you should definitely look for a 4K TV. If your budget for 40’’ - 43’’ TV is very tight then you should look at FHD TV (but try getting a 4K TV if you can)
Smart TV OS
Smart TV OS - Please prefer Android TVs, (many brands have their own version of smart TVs) so try to get an official Android TV. Because many cheap TVs have an unofficial build of Android TV OS that doesn’t support many apps & the user experience is also not that good.
So when you’re buying a smart TV then definitely you should buy an official Android TV. If you find different OS of other popular brands very much useful then you can look for those, but I’ll say Android TV would be much preferable. Don't buy older Android version TV i.e Android 6 etc. In 2021 Android 9,10,11 should be your option, but ideally, you should look at Android 10.
Refresh Rate
Refresh Rate - We’ve seen high refresh rate smartphones are useful for gaming but this isn't a big deal in TVs. Normal 60 Hz TV is more than enough.
Unless you’re gaming a lot or watching fast action scenes on your TV, then you can look at high refresh rate TVs But if you look at high refresh rate TVs, the cost of the TV will increase significantly.
Panel
Panel - Generally the TVs that most people buy are LED TVs. If you look at OLED, QLED TVs they are very expensive. Quality will definitely be much better with deeper blacks but 90% of people buy normal LED TVs. If you have the budget then you can go for QLED or OLED TVs else LED panels are good enough for most people.
Ports
Ports - (Many people ignore ports) 2 ports are very important - USB & HDMI. Ideally, a TV should have 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports. As you’ll be connecting a lot of devices to your TV so USB & HDMI are very important.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth - It should definitely be present on your TV. Having a 3.5 mm jack depends on your requirement
Specifications
Specifications - Most of the TVs run on MediaTek processors so make sure your TV has a quad-core processor
But RAM should be at least 2GB on your TV as 1GB RAM isn't that sufficient. A smart TV has an OS skin on top of Android so it needs resources to work so RAM should be at least 2GB. Storage should be 8GB minimum. 16GB would be ideal as we install many apps. OTT platform alone has more than 8-10 apps So these apps take around 1-2 GB of storage. So 2GB RAM & 16GB storage would be an ideal combination.
Audio
Audio - If your audio is not that good no matter how good your display is, your audio will ruin your entire experience. I’ll recommend you to buy a soundbar of 5-6K Rs along with a TV because TVs don't have enough space to include bigger & better speakers. The audio quality of the TV can go only up to a certain level & most of the TVs don't have a great audio quality. So investing in a soundbar will make your TV watching experience much better.
Build Quality
Build Quality - Many cheaper TVs have a poor build quality which reduces the longevity when you’re using it for many years so build quality is also important.
Remote
Remote - ( watch our videos to know which types are remotes are included with modern-day TVs ) You have to get familiar with all the buttons that are present on your remote.
Many times they’re not user-friendly, it spoils your experience. don't worry we are there for you we are reviewing the best tv ever in 2021 we are reviewing 50 inches tv with sharing personal experience
we are reviewing 50-inch tv list by list
This post is about a 50-inch TV and if you think I'll tell you the best TV, then you're wrong. we are comparing 25 TVs to show the best 50-inch TV in every price range today I'll tell you the best 50-inch TV in India 2021. Watch it according to your price range without skipping because significant information is given in between.
You will spend your hard-earned money and spend the next 5-7 years with that. The sole criterion to rank these TVs is their picture quality. Audio quality can be improved by using a soundbar but the picture quality channel. This is how we run this channel. This is our source of income as we don't run any sponsored content of which 4 have been launched. These TVs are- OnePlus TV, Realme TV, Mi TV 4X, IFFALCON K61, and Redmi TV.
TOP 5
When I didn't recommend Redmi TV, then someone asked me a great question on Instagram- if I can recommend Mi TV then why not Redmi TV? Let's know more about this. All TVs either have cheap prices or are popular. MI brand is famous in mobile phones and same they want for TV but we must know the best TV in this category. For that, we need to learn about these TVs but before that let me tell you the most important thing in a TV is its picture quality and good picture quality comes with good colors which come with better backlight or
brightness. More backlight is essential for a good TV. Brightness is measured in nits and Mi TV 4X has 200 nits, IFFALCON K61 has 290 nits, Realme TV has 280 nits whereas Redmi has not declared the brightness. According to my, it is between 250-300 nits. OnePlus TV is just the rebranded version of Realme TV and has
280 nits peak HRD brightness acc to me. How can I say that the OnePlus TV is the rebranded version of Realme TV? They both are 1 company and every company purchases only 1 type of panel for a price range. 43-inch Full HD and HD TV in OnePlus and Realme come with the same panel and only some different features to show their difference to consumers. Everything I say about the 4k version Realme TV will also be the same as the OnePlus TV.
My choice among these is Redmi TV. I'll disclose the reasons later. Redmi TV comes in a thin bezel design, plastic body, and a plastic stand. It has 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate with Reality Flow 60FPS (Frames/second). Reality flow is a type of MEMC run via software instead of a chip. This leads to a significant change in motion blur which is negligible.
It comes with an 8 bit FRC VA/IPS DLED panel that supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, & Dolby Vision. Access to me its peak HDR brightness is between 250-300 nits. Redmi ships both VA and IPS panels but they haven't cleared which panel will be shipped in which size. This causes chaos. The same is with MI TV 4X and Redmi TV. You have to deal with it.
It has a vivid picture engine and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). It's good for gamers due to low latency and no lag while playing games. Every TV that comes with HDR has a Wide Color Gamut. Its NTSC is 85% and its DCI-P3 ratio is 92%. It comes with Android 10 with Patchwall 3 OS. It has built-in Chromecast and Miracast support. There is Cortex A55 CPU and Mali G52 MP2 GPU. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB STORAGE, AND 12GB free storage. It comes with 30W bottom-firing box speakers which support Dolby Audio and DTS HD. The best thing is its 3HDMI 2.1 eARC ports, 2 USB, 1 optical audio port, headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band wifi. Redmi TV doesn't have an extraordinary picture quality. Had it been 350-400 nits, it would have been the best TV in the budget range.
Redmi TV is number 1 amongst the mentioned competition TVs. Its picture quality is better, peak HDR brightness is the same or more and its connectivity options are amazing. Its OS is refined with no lags. There are no lags while operating with remote and it works smoothly. That's why I recommend it because it's one of the best TV amongst these TV. But if you can take the other TV by paying more, then it'll be better. Now let's talk about the alternate option which I recommend but I must tell you- Realme TV that costs ₹40,000.
Redmi TV costs ₹33,000 and will help you save money with a good TV. Redmi TV is actually better than Realme TV.

TOP 4
Let's move to our next position. The 7 TVs I have kept in this position are- Sanyo Kaizen TV, Nokia TV, Hisense A71F, VU Premium TV, VU Ultra, Motorola ZX Pro, and Toshiba TV. Hisense A71F, VU premium, VU Ultra, and Toshiba TV have the same panel and same peak HDR Brightness of 400 nits. Nokia TV has 380 nits, Sanyo Kaizen and Motorola ZX pro have 350 nits brightness. They all have a VA panel. IPS panel doesn't come in this segment.
Wider viewing angles can't be expected from these TVs. This is a big drawback in 50-inch size. My pick will be Hisense A71F, VU Ultra, or VU Premium. They are exactly the same with no difference. Buy any TV because you'll be buying the same thing. They come in a thin bezel design, plastic body, and plastic stand. It has 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. There is no MEMC software technology. They come with an 8 bit FRC
VA DLED panel with 400 nits peak HDR brightness. They support HDR10, HLG, & Dolby Vision. Hisense is the manufacturer and manufactured VU TVs named- VU Premium and VU Ultra. Its VA panel is good and shows rich colors and deep blacks. You can buy any TV among these for the best budget range 50-inch TV. Let's understand their features.
They have 4k video upscale, sports mode, ultra dimming, and backlight control features. They come with Android 9 with built-in Chromecast but they don't promise an Android 10 upgrade. There is a Cortex A55 CPU and Mali 470 MP3 GPU. They have 2GB RAM, 16GB STORAGE, AND 11GB free storage. They have 30W bottom-firing box speakers which support Dolby Atmos. They come with 3HDMI (1ARC port but no 2.1 eARC port), 2 USB, 1 optical audio port, headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band wifi. Dolby Atmos support doesn't mean Dolby Atmos sound from TV. No TV can do it.
Hisense A71F costs ₹35,000 and VU TVs also cost approximately the same (₹1k-₹2k extra). The choice is yours. They have good panels and connectivity options are OK due to the lack of an HDMI 2.1 eARC port. There is no problem with them. In the first batch of Hisense A71F, there was the issue of color bleeding which is not present in the 2nd and 3rd batches.
You must buy A VA panel when there is less light in your room or if your room is dark or if you watch TV at night. and the scenario is Motorola ZX Pro. It is a good TV with 350 nits brightness. The details of its panel's manufacturer are not disclosed. But the panel is good with good colors. Its one advantage is the in-built soundbar with approx 50W wattage. There is no need for an external soundbar. But its cost is high- around ₹9,000. This is approx ₹4000 more expensive than Hisense and VU. You can buy a budget soundbar of around ₹5,000 along with Hisense TV.
They might have provided the same panel as A71F but there are very few apps. Hisense promised that more Indian apps will be present in Toshiba TV till Feb 2021 but they are still not there. That's why I don't recommend it. For external apps, you will need an external device like Firestick or MI box. You can pay these external costs in Hisense TV, VU Ultra, or VU premium TV. Toshiba TV has single-band wifi and that's one of the reasons I didn't choose Toshiba TV in this segment. Let's talk about Nokia TV which comes with 380 nits brightness whereas in Motorola ZX Pro it is 350 nits. They both have exactly the same soundbar- 49W and 50W.
Only the brand name is changed. Nokia TV soundbar has Onkyo branding whereas Motorola TV soundbar has no branding. That's why I recommended Motorola ZX Pro because you also get dual-band wifi in it. Sanyo Kaizen is a good TV with 350 nits brightness but only single band wifi. This is the primary reason why I didn't choose Sanyo Kaizen in comparison to these TVs.

ALTERNATE OPTION
The alternate option on number 4 that can beat all these on paper (whose reality we'll discuss later)- TCL C715 QLED TV available in 50-inch size.
It comes in a thin-bezel design, metal frame, and a metal base stand. Its screen-to-body ratio is 95.12%. It has a 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate without any MEMC support. It comes with an 8 bit FRC MVA DLED panel with 330 nits peak HDR brightness. It supports HDR10, HLG, & Dolby Vision. Its contrast the ratio is 5001. MVA panel is like a VA panel with a QLED (Quantum dot filter)
(Quantum dot filter). 330 nits brightness doesn't lead to extreme bright colors because more brightness QLED means good color reproduction but 330 nits brightness means less LED. It won't show more colors on maximum brightness. That is why it is an alternate option. The DCI-P3 ratio of the Wide color gamut is 93%. It comes with micro dimming and far-field voice tech, same in Realme TV using which Google Assistant can be activated without a remote. It comes with Android 9 and built-in Chromecast and it supports Google Assistant and Alexa. It has a Cortex A55 CPU and Mali 470 MP3 GPU. It has 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and 11GB free storage.
It comes with 20W box speakers which support Dolby Tru HD and Dolby Atmos. It has 3 HDMI (1 ARC but sadly no eARC),2 USBs, 1 optical audio port, headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band wifi. It costs ₹50,000 and considers it when you're interested in the QLED badge because it doesn't show extraordinary picture quality. Quantum filter is in front of backlight LED but that doesn't create any significant improvement in picture quality. There is a green tint which is irritating and problematic for me because a natural picture profile is always preferable.

If you are ok with it, then go for it. Otherwise, the other budget options are good. The choice is yours. Samsung AUE 70 (crystal pro TV), LG UM7290, LG UM7300, and LG UM7700. The clear winner is Samsung AUE 60/70 (crystal/crystal pro) and the reason will be disclosed later. It comes in a slim bezel design, plastic body, and a plastic stand. It has 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has an 8 Bit FRC VA LED panel with 330 nits peak HDR Brightness with HDR10 and HLG support. Samsung AUE 60/70 has the same panel and hence the same picture quality in crystal and crystal pro TV. Despite 300 nits brightness on paper, these TVs exhibit a good picture quality because Samsung has used good backlight LEDs. Samsung calls it Crystal display. It comes with Pur color, contrast enhancer, computer mode, music system mode, and ambient mode. It comes with Tizen OS and Bixby, Alexa, and Google Assistant support. Samsung has used its Samsung Quad-Core CPU and GPU with 1.5GB RAM, 8GB storage, and 3GB free storage.
It has 20W bottom-firing speakers with Dolby Digital Plus support. The best thing is 1 HDMI 2.1 eARC port out of 3 HDMI ports. 1 USB port has been decreased from the previous year model. There is no headphone jack. It has Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band wifi. Both the TV have good panels, good picture quality, good quality LED, and good colors (deep blacks). It is a VA panel that is suitable for dark rooms or in rooms with less sunlight. AUE 60 costs ₹49,000 and AUE 70 costs ₹52,000. Let's understand their difference. There is one difference- AUE 70 ( crystal pro) has voice assistant support on the remote itself. AUE 60 doesn't support this.
This is the only difference. These two TVs are xerox of each other. You can buy any TV from this link. But if you are confused then the practical advice is- calculate the number of times you activate Google Assistant on your phone. If it is more than 3 times, then go for AUE 70. Otherwise, AUE 60 is good. Let's talk about the alternate option- LG UM7290.
It has a VA panel in a 50-inch size and is available at a good price right now you can check those links ๐

need HDMI 2.1 and if you like LG WEB OS instead of Tizen OS. Otherwise, Samsung is slightly a better Samsung TU 7200, Sony X7400H, and Sony X7500H. The clear winner is Sony X7400H/ X7500H. They come in a slim bezel design, plastic body, and a plastic stand. It has a 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution and a 50Hz refresh rate.
Sony X7400H 2021 model has 8 Bit FRC VA DLED panel with 340 nits peak HDR Brightness with HDR10 support. X7400H 2020 had an LED panel while the 2021 model has DLED backlights but there is no significant change in
picture quality. LEDs panel are not bad. You should consider the quality of the panel, the manufacturer of the panel, the quality of LED, and whether they are bleeding or not. Both 2020 and 2021 are good TVs. That's why I have placed it on my list. Let's talk about other features. Sony has used an X1 4K picture processor which enhances picture quality acc to Sony. But I didn't find any significant change in the picture quality from the 2020 model. It comes with Triluminos Display, Motion enhancer, and Frame dimming (it can be switched on/off).
X7400H has MotionFlow XR100 and X7500H has XR200 (the only difference between these 2 TV). These are Sony's technologies that decrease motion blur significantly even at a 50Hz refresh rate. You can call it Sony's MEMC. X7400H has Android 10 out of the box and built-in Chromecast and Alexa and Google Assistant support but sadly Apple Airplay support is not there. I'm not sure if Sony will add it later or not but currently, it is missing.
Sony has used its Quad-Core CPU and Dual Core GPU with 1.5GB RAM, 16GB storage, and 9GB free storage. 2021 model has 20W open baffle speakers with Dolby Audio support. It has 3 HDMI ports (1ARC), 2 USB,
1 optical audio port, and a headphone jack. It has Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band wifi. Sony has not given 2.1 eARC
port because acc to them it is a premium feature and these are just entry-level TVs of Sony. It is a big con. You will have to compromise if you want a good picture quality. If HDMI 2.1 port is a must, then go for Samsung Crystal or Crystal pro. Otherwise, Sony is unbeatable in picture quality. Its color calibration and grey and black uniformity can't be beaten by Samsung. TU800 or TU7200 are the Same as Samsung crystal and crystal pro but with some added features. There is no significant change. But Samsung can never beat Sony's picture quality in this segment. Sony TVs are expensive. X7400H costs ₹63,000 and Sony X7500H (alternate option) costs ₹62,000.same picture quality.

TOP 1
I've compared 5 TVs in 1st position- LG Nano80, Sony X8000H, Samsung Frame, Samsung Serif & Samsung Q60T. The clear winner is Sony X8000H & details will be disclosed later. It has a thin-bezel design, plastic body & a metal stand. It has 4K Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution & a 60Hz refresh rate. It has an 8 Bit FRC IPS DLED panel with 550 nits peak HDR Brightness with HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision support. Sony's starts Dolby Vision support from this TV.
Its contrast ratio is a bit less- 1100:1 but this will not affect picture quality due to Sony's amazing color calibration. It shows deep Blacks despite the IPS panel. It has vivid and good colors. Sony has done a great job.
Dolby Vision starts from here and you can actually see good Dolby Vision content in it. Let's talk about its features. Sony has used X reality pro triluminos display which comes with X1 4K processor, Motionflow XR 200 which is Sony's technology that reduces Motion blur. It has frame dimming which is just average. You will get deep blacks but not as good as OLED. It has Android 9 out of the box and built-in Chromecast and Apple Airplay 2, Alexa, and Google Assistant support. Sony has not given any update regarding the Android update. Sony has used its Quad
Core CPU and Dual Core GPU. Its input lag is 9ms only which is fantastic. It comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage
and 10GB free storage. It has 20W bass-reflex speakers with hi-fi audio and Dolby Atmos support. It has 4 HDMI
ARC ports (and the biggest disappointment is the lack of eARC port), 2 USB, 1 optical audio port, and a
headphone jack. It has Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band wifi. Sony has not given a 2.1 eARC port and no statement regarding updates has been given. 9500G Sony's 2019 model has an eARC port with a software update.
I am not sure if Sony will give this update because they have to sell their 80J model with an eARC port but its panel is not that good acc to me. It has amazing picture quality. It costs ₹75,000 and it varies between ₹72,000 to ₹80,000. in this comparison because its 55-inch panel (which is highly publicized) and 50-inch panel are completely different.
Their connectivity options are completely different. Its peak HDR brightness is also completely different. But Sony wins hands down in this comparison. Let's talk about the alternate option LG NANO80. It is a good TV but not as good as Sony. Its cost varies around ₹10,000 from Sony. There is no significant difference in quality but if
